Neiman Marcus is a speciality departmental store, owned and operated by the Neiman Marcus Group in the United States. The company’s main headquarters are in Dallas, Texas. The proposal was rejected by Neiman Marcus, and even though a compromise was offered, it was rejected by the bank. Neiman Marcus Group and Bergdorf Goodman Inc sued the bank for breach of contract because there were no such changes mentioned in the original contract and they couldn’t just change it at whim .Finally in May 2008,Neiman Marcus settled the issue with HBFC bank amicably. Other upscale retailers like Nordstrom, have avoided this kind of conflict by retaining ownership of their branded credit card programs.
