Around the world, just the mention of the word “Chucks” or Cons, people may already know what you’re talking about. Chucks are canvas and rubber shoes produced by Converse. They were first produced in 1917 as the “All-Star,” Converse’s attempt to capture basketball shoe market.
These shoes weren’t popular until basketball player Chuck Taylor made them as his preferred shoe. He was offered a job by Converse and became the shoe’s leading salesman. Taylor had proposed changes for the shoes with his idea and after these changes were made by Converse he had his signature on the shoes’ ankle patch.
Since then, the demand for variety of colors, styles, patterns and more from these shoes have greatly increased. Moreover, this type of shoe has coerced itself as a fashion for punkrock fans as famous punk rock bands, such as the Ramones, Nirvana- to name a few, had used these sneakers themselves.
